Many graduates from the Levine Children’s Hospital at Atrium Health's Carolinas Medical Center (CMC) residency program continue their education by pursuing fellowships in the pediatric subspecialties. We encourage and support interested residents to pursue additional training. The only pediatric fellows at CMC are in the Emergency Department. The absence of fellows creates opportunities for residents to work directly with our outstanding faculty. This close working relationship, along with the volume, variety and acuity in our patient population, creates an optimal training environment and prepares our residents to succeed in the fellowships they choose. Our fellowship elective is a two-week career-focused course affording residents schedule flexibility during the interview season while they work toward fellowship–oriented scholarly works. Ask us more about it on your interview day!
